        Hi there Rehana! Great question.

All the oxygen on Earth is stuck on our planet because of Earth’s gravity – that’s what stops it floating off into space!

A long time ago there was no oxygen on Earth either – our atmosphere was full of a gas called carbon dioxide. Then millions of years ago we think some bacteria learnt how to change that carbon dioxide into oxygen. That’s what plants do too – it’s called photosynthesis! They make all the oxygen we need to breathe!
