Snow are actually water vapour in the atmosphere that are frozen at low temperatures. If they had not fallen as snow, they condense to rain.

Hi there guys! Snow is made in the same way as rain – through the Water Cycle!

In the Water Cycle heat from the Sun ☀️ causes water on Earth (in oceans and lakes) to evaporate (turn from liquid into gas) and rise into the sky. This water vapour collects in the sky and becomes clouds! ☁️☁️☁️

As water vapour in the clouds cools down it becomes water again, this process is called condensation. If it’s cold enough it can freeze and become ice. ❄️❄️❄️

Water falls from the clouds in the sky when they blow over land. If it was cold enough for the water to freeze then the water can fall as snow!

Did you know that every snowflake is completely different? There are no two snow flakes the same. Here’s a picture of what a snowflake really looks like under a microscope!
