Yes. Unravelling and getting to understand how certain thing work/operate have been something I had loved as a teenager.

        Hi Annie,
Not always. When I was at primary school I wanted to be a pilot so I could fly Concorde or a Jumbo Jet!
But when I got to secondary school I really liked doing experiments and when I went to university it was to do science and I really like it

I’ve always liked science! I always wanted to understand how things worked. I remember having a science kit at home when I was little and my big brother and I used to make blue crystals with it in my parents’ garage. I used to love watching sciencey films too. I used to like playing music and playing football and hockey a lot too so I didn’t always know I wanted to be a scientist when I grew up – I decided that when I was about 16.

I always enjoyed science when I was at school, but for a long time I wanted to be a dentist (euw!) – then I realised I was far too sqeamish for that!!

When I went to University I studied Chemistry and started to learn about the environment, that’s when I decided to be an environmental scientist.

I have changed my mind a lot of times along the way though – that is ok, you have plenty of time to decide what you want to be when you grow up!
