        Hi guys!

The weather is what’s going on in the atmosphere – things like temperature, if it’s raining, how cloudy or windy it is. Weather changes on from day to day because of winds and storms but changes between seasons because Earth is rotating around the Sun.

But what causes weather? The Earth is round and not flat so the Sun doesn’t shine evenly on all the land and seas. The Sun shines more directly near the equator so it’s much warmer there. In the polar regions they get little or no sunlight during the winter, causing much colder temperatures. These differences in temperature create a restless movement of air and water in great swirling patterns to move heat energy from the Sun across the planet! That’s why we get weather!
