        Hi Annie! It’s not always easy to come up with great ideas so I had some help! When I started doing my research I had to decide what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to do something that wouldn’t make lots of pollution that would be bad for the planet and I knew I wanted to try to make new molecules that could be really useful. I found someone I wanted to work with (my boss) and we came up with an idea together to use plants to make new plastics! My boss has given me lots of ideas and I think now I’m coming up with some ideas of my own. My lab mates all help me come up with new ideas too – well all talk about what we’re doing lots to give each other ideas. Not all of them are good but hopefully some will be really useful 🙂

        Hi Annie!

        I think it’s pretty amazing that the world turned out the way it did – the chances of all the things happening (just the right distance from the Sun ☀, having a moon, etc) to have made the Earth somewhere humans and animals can live are pretty remote, so I feel like we have a responsibility to understand the planet + look after it! ?

        Currently climate change is set to really ruin the world, so I’d like to do anything I can to help stop that from happening. The idea of my research is to understand how forests affect the climate so that we can use this information to make laws that protect them.

        If you want to be a scientist you don’t have to come up with your idea all by yourself, you can talk to other scientists who have been doing it for a long time and they will help you work out a good project to study!

        Hi Annie,
        My work is about understanding how climate changed in the past so we can be more certain how it will change in the future. I didn’t come up with this idea myself, usually ideas come from alot of scientists working together. I hope my work will provide information to help people make decisions on how we should live to improve the environment.
